Voltage as a fashion meets music engagement never fails to impress. One notable mention this year is Mayda, a Korean Saint Paulite who has been gaining traction for her songwriting and hip hop skills. Ever since her song appeared on Real World D.C. (and who knew there was still a Real World show), her MySpace has been busting at the seams. Kudos to MPR’s Chris Roberts for featuring her nearly two years ago, saying, “In a crowd, it’s easy to overlook Mayda. But on stage, it is hard not to notice her.”

Celebrated fashion designer Laura Fulk will be outfitting Mayda and who is set to show her premiere Autumn/Winter 2010 collection on April 20 at McNamara Alumni Center.
