High Tide @ Kitty Cat Klub

What ever happened to old-fashioned listening parties? You know, the kind where folks got together to listen to the latest LP on crisp vinyl. Well, music appreciators fret no more. Each month, Jonathan Ackerman & Travis Stearns – hosts of the Kitty Cat Klub’s “High Tide” – hand pick a few hip, local musicians and Twin Cities’ music geeks to take their individualized love affairs with music and turn them into a public – and danceable – listening showcase. Tonight’s line-up includes tracks from the Moonstoners, psych/funk/garage rock from Guystorm’s Ryan Norton, and Lookbook’s Grant Cutler playing what he describes as “music your mother listened to” (which I can only hope includes a little Bread and Grand Funk Railroad). Plus, a sizzlin’ eclectic set from Ackerman and forgotten hits Stearns revived and borrowed from YouTube.
