In a time of cutbacks and slacky Governors, non-profits not only are filling the gap of social services from the state but also suffering funding blows.  Maybe we should all just live in cardboard boxes in Downtown Minneapolis to demonstrate.  Fortunately a few local bands are bringing attention and helping to raise some funds.

On Friday, December 18, five bands will perform at 7th Street Entry to raise money for the Legal Aid Society of Minneapolis.  This is a non-profit organization that provides free civil legal services for less advantaged and vulnerable Minnesotans.  Note, this doesn’t mean just the homeless, these people could be your neighbor or grandma.  All proceeds go to Legal Aid, www.midmnlegal.org.

Bands and artists performing include Little Man, Kill the Vultures, Alicia Wiley, The Alpha Centauri, and Ada Jane.
