CounterCouture is Fashion Recycled
CounterCouture was born after Angie Arner, founder of CounterCouture, felt the need repurpose the “sad dresses in the back of her closet.” A common struggle for many women who see potential for the dresses they own that need a facelift.
CounterCouture just recently launched their website (www.countercouturedesigns.com) and is soon to release their first line of “upcycled” bridesmaids dresses. The entire line will be officially debuted during Spring MNFashion Week. This company seeks to be an innovative addition to the eco-fashion scene. Their website notes, “What once was drab and unusable, is now something sexy and modern. By creatively solving this specific waste problem.”
Not only are their products on board with eco-fashion, but they aim to utilize sustainability in all of their business practices – operations to production.
Arner has high hopes for the future of CounterCouture, “We are looking to grow our creative collective and product offerings, as well as explore national opportunities. My goal for CounterCouture is to be a true eco-trendsetter, and I’m quite excited about what this could potentially do for Minneapolis fashion and beyond.” With a truly unique approach to fashion in general, CounterCouture has the talent and ambition to put Twin Cities on the map for leading innovative fashion.
As local designers craft and redesign the pieces, every dress has a story and a history uniquely their own.
