MIA Invites the Louvre
To celebrate their second anniversary, Twin Cities Green is celebrating in a somewhat unconventional way plus MIA goes Louvre.
To celebrate their second anniversary, Twin Cities Green is celebrating in a somewhat unconventional way. Instead of the boutique soiree that took place last year, this year they put on the Eco Boudoir Bash. This Bash had the goal of proving that Green can be sexy “and a little naughty!” The event included a “fashion show of sleepwear and lingerie, a workshop from Smitten Kitten, organic cocktails, organic mattress demonstrations and a make-your-own underwear from reclaimed fabric workshop.” If you’re interested in earth-friendly home furnishings, make sure you check out Twin Cities Green.

This fall, the Minneapolis Institute of the Arts is housing a very special exhibition, “The Louvre and The Masterpiece.” The collection which is being loaned from the Louvre in Paris is “billed as an exploration of the definition “masterpiece” — how it and people’s tastes have changed over time.” With pieces in the collection over 4,000 years old, you would have to be foolish to pass up seeing some the world’s most masterful and profound artwork. The exhibition runs through January 10.

Ok, as if I haven’t plugged Sufjan Stevens enough, there is a sensational review of the show at the 400 bar on Culture Bully that I beg you check out. Not only to give you an idea of how inventive the show was, but to see where Sufjan is headed in the coming years. Check it out here!
