Holiday Boutique 2009 Opening Soon

Though Fall MNFashion Week has come to a close, there are still many events in the coming months.

The Voltage: Fashion Amplified 2010 Fashion Show, which will take place during the Spring MNFashion Week in April is now accepting designer applications.  The show will take place in April so that the designers can also premier their Spring fashion collections simultaneously at Voltage.  Voltage summarizes itself as being, “a design incubator, working with promising designers with innovative and exciting clothing lines looking to take their business to the next level. Each year, Voltage works to address current needs in the fashion design community.”

You can download the application here, if interested.

An opportunity I am particularly excited about is the annual Holiday Boutique in Gavlidae Commons in Downtown Minneapolis.

“We gained new exposure for designers, artists, and the MNfashion organization with our boutique space downtown-servicing the downtown workers, people attending various events throughout the holidays, and, surprisingly, many out of town travelers.”

Due to the success and sales of the Boutique in 2008, the space has been doubled and is excited to recruit more than the 20 designers they sold with last year.  The prices aren’t steep either, with most items retailing under $50.

Some great October fashion events are upcoming as well:

Box Luncheon Event, show featuring Ann Lambrecht’s jewelry: Thursday October 8, 12 pm

Kevin Kramp Website Launch Party, Kevin Kramp joins with DJ Traxx to simultaneously celebrate the launch of Kramp’s new web site and Traxx’s LP “Faith”:  Saturday October 10, 10 pm

Intersections: Where Art Meets Fashion, Goldstein Museum of Design will host an exploration into the ways fashion has influenced art and vice versa.  Floral patterns and Mid-20th Century Pop Art will be the focus:  Thursday October 22, 6:30 pm
