SCENEaSOTA; Vietnam Photo Exhibit
The 2nd annual SCENEaSOTA Fashion Show took place this weekend in the Warehouse District at the Brin Building. In just its’ second year, the space was filled with fashion enthusiasts getting to view the thoughtful designs of six local designers. Several designers made return visits to the show, while Emma Berg accomplished her runway debut as a designer. The space offered VIP seating and standing room both upstairs and downstairs; had you gotten there late, you may have had a tough time getting a particularly great view of the runway. But with DJ Real Talk Radio and a full service bar, the event was certainly a success.

PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBIT
A photography exhibit in St. Paul, titled “Legacy of an Ecocide”, hosts a very sobering look back at the tragedies of the Vietnam War. Photographer, Petronella J. Ytsma, made several trips to Vietnam in the past two years documenting. She “photographed Vietnamese people whose bodies show the effects of Agent Orange, a herbicide that U.S. military forces used to defoliate the forests and fields Vietnam.” There are terrible effects on the Vietnamese people that are still being incurred today and Ytsma felt an undeniable duty to record this travesty. The exhibition runs unti October 28, Monday through Saturday at St. Catherine’s in St. Paul.
