Ferociter to be featured at Voltage

Aimie Dukes is fierce in the accessories department. Ever since she sent me her 2009 look book, I have been meaning to write about Victorian spikes and sardonic vintage necklaces. And when I thought she just did jewelry, she sent me sneak peeks at these ferocious cuffs of what looks like distressed black metal. Put that with a white cocktail dress and you have a girl who screams RAWR. That’s why she’s called Ferociter.

The cuffs pictured are for designer Calpurnia Peach who perfects soft lines and subtle elegance with the occasional splash of patterns. I always know Calpurnia for being an accessories maven, knowing how to let them speak out without competing with the outfit. Aimie says CP’s new collection is “inspired by the book ‘Where the Wild Things Are’ so I did a distressed finish that has the feeling of an animal print.”

Ferociter will be on the runway this Friday at Voltage which additionally includes pieces for designers Max Lohrbach and Carmichael Claith. She will also be selling at Voltage and offering free shipping to Minnesota residents through the end of May.

And from surfing her website: Is it me or is Jahna Peloquin the queen of styling?. I wonder if she’ll get her own reality TV show, we certainly have a list of potential (dramatic) interns for her.
